Description Woman's 2-piece riding habit of natural linen. Jacket is fitted in back and has front button closure with hidden placket, notched collar, and long sleeves that are slightly puffed at shoulders. Jacket has bias bands applied over seams on back and shoulders. Skirt is draped for side-saddle riding, with elastic foot loops inside hem. Skirt has side closure with hooks at waistband and hidden button placket. Applied bias bands at cuffs, jacket hem, and skirt hem.

Ownership and History Belonged to Mignon Critten Sherley (1878-1969), mother of Olive S. Young. Mignon Critten lived on Grymes Hill, Staten Island before her marriage to U.S. Congressman Swager Sherley on April 21,1906.
