Description Woman's 2-piece dress. Light green silk satin with overall brocaded floral and vine design in pink silk. Bodice has square neckline at front, formed by ivory net insert. Bodice back has V neckline with net insert attached to lace collar. Bodice is boned, with an ivory satin lining that has a drawstring at neckline. Front opening has snaps and hook and eye closures. Bodice has tan silk satin sash attached at waist; sash has attached bow that has ends with metallic tassels. Dress shields are sewn into the underarms. (Dress shields have markings including a 1918 date that is possibly a patent date; they could be later additions to the dress.) Elbow-length sleeves have lace trim at cuffs. Skirt has straight front with vent (pleated V shape) at center front. Skirt is gathered at back and has a train; skirt has back hook and eye closure. Cloth label on interior waistband inside bodice: "KATE REILY / DOVER STREET. LONDON". Kate Reily's dress designs were touted in the New York Times after the American branch of her business was purchased by the New York firm of Ehrich Brothers in 1894.
