Ownership and History | Brise fans have no fan leaf; they are typically made from sticks that are joined together by a ribbon. This small fan was used to send holiday wishes. Its Hebrew inscription "L'Shanah Tovah," meaning "for a good year," is the traditional greeting for Rosh Hashanah, which marks the start of the Jewish new year. |
