Ownership and History This photograph and the accompanying label text were created as part of the Indelible Memories documentation project. The Staten Island Historical Society partnered with photographer Vinnie Amesse to record images and statements from more than fifty individuals profoundly affected by the events of September 11 and their aftermath. The exhibition, "Indelible Memories: September 11 Memorial Tattoos Photographed by Vinnie Amesse," was displayed at Historic Richmond Town in 2003.

Exhibit Label Text Alice's tattoo memorializes her nephew Neil Dollard of Cantor Fitzgerald. She chose a tattoo "to keep his spirit alive;" she says it works, because people ask her about the tattoo and she tells Neil's story.
